After growing up on a farm in Northern Utah, Derek Israelsen headed to college undecided on a major. He began taking photography classes and soon realized that what he was looking for was staring at him through the viewfinder. The clarity and focus found through his college cameras gave Derek focus and led to his accomplished career. Now specializing in product, lifestyle and editorial photography, Derek still finds his focus through the lens. His ability to shape and manipulate natural light creates exceptional imagery that allows viewers to recognize how a product would look in their own home. Derek’s talent got him into the business, but it’s his consistent brand, quality and relationships that have kept him there for over 18 years.
Derek is currently based in Salt Lake City and enjoys spending time in Utah’s great outdoors with his wife, three kids and their yellow lab Buddy.
